by Kaitlyn Bullentini

As college students, it is essential to maintain a healthy lifestyle despite our busy schedules, tight budgets, and limited cooking experience. But scanning the internet for hours for “easy” recipes can be overwhelming. There is no need to do more internet deep dives to plan out this week’s meal; I’ve done it for you! Here are three easy recipes (appetizer, entree, and dessert) that will make it seem like you’ve been in the kitchen for years.

Want to have your besties over and throw a little movie night? Hosting gatherings can cause stress, especially if you don’t know what food to make. These Bacon Wrapped Jalapeno Poppers are sure to bring the heat and impress your friends. Plus, they only take 35-minutes to make! Put on your favorite playlist and head to the kitchen! (Pro Tip: Make some without bacon for any vegetarian friends. They are just as yummy!)

Taco Tuesdays are about to be a weekly occurrence in your college apartment! This recipe uses fish for protein, which is perfect if you are in a rush, but feel free to swap it out with any other protein depending on how you are feeling. Plus, you can put all the toppings on the side so everyone can fully customize their meal. Since this meal only takes 20 minutes to make, you’ll be back to grinding out homework or hanging with friends in no time.

Nothing cures homesickness more than a home cooked meal, and when that's not an option, some comfort food is the next best thing. This apple crisp is a single-serve dessert that is a perfect, small treat just for yourself. Or, double the recipe and surprise your roommates with this yummy dessert!

Being on your own for the first time can be intimidating, especially if you are just learning to cook for yourself and your roommates. Check out these easy and college kid approved recipes to switch up your meals without the stress!
