WHO WE ARE!
Align Magazine is an arts and culture magazine with a strong emphasis on fashion and pop culture. We began five years ago as a blog called Ducks Dressed Up which showcased student’s outfits on campus to now being a fully operational quarterly magazine. We pride ourselves in offering a creative community of University of Oregon students who can bond over their shared passions, create together and have their work published in our magazine. I’d describe myself as a well-put-together wildcard. I know how to get down to business (hello, Align Magazine) and I know when it’s time to have fun. My ideas of fun include: binging Fast & Furious 1-7 because you know I’m just here for Paul Walker, drinking iced lattes from Tailored, eating Trader Joe’s pot stickers, turning the volume in the car to an odd number, bullet journaling, baking lemon loaves, blowing off steam on the soccer field or track, and adding so many things to my online shopping cart that I eventually get overwhelmed and end up not buying a single thing.

Hi everyone! I am Payton, a junior at UO. I am an explorer, artist, and student who loves to learn. I am majoring in advertising and minoring in multimedia. I would consider myself inspired by many different things in my daily life, including working with Align. In my free time, you can find me playing with graphic design, going on a hike, or finding fun projects to take on. I love to cook and have always valued all thing fashion and sustainability. Creating new things and generating new ideas is what keeps me fueled!

I'm going into my third year at Oregon majoring in public relations and minoring in French and business. While I have previously been a writer for Align, I'm excited to take on a new role as funding manager this year. I'm so grateful to be a part of a community that perfectly combines my interests in fashion, lifestyle, and creating. When I'm not working on an Align project or doing schoolwork, you can find me making yet another Spotify playlist or laying outside with friends enjoying a sunny day.

I’m currently a junior studying art at UO. I’ve previously worked with Align as an art director, illustrator, and designer, and I’m excited to take on the role of design editor this year! Besides design work, my main interests are music and fashion, so when I have free time you can usually find me thirifting, upcycling clothes, exploring niche subgenres of music, or doing my favorite relaxing activity, painting.

I’m an aquarius, a photographer, a vegetarian, a hamster mom, and a clothing hoarder. Outside of Align you can find me behind the scenes for UO Music & Concerts or working the cash register at the Fresh Corner Market!

I’ve been writing for as long as I can remember and love editing even more as it satisfies my Virgo need for perfectionism. Align is so special to me because it allows for creative expression and professional publication. So excited for year 3!

Growing up in the golden fields of Illinois and the lush coast of Alaska as the 8th of 9 children has shaped my creative view on the world. I’m a lover of intimate writing, craft based art, and dressing myself in all things beautiful, both conventional and unconventional. I was raised in a home filled with quilts, ceramics, home cooked meals, and music, all of which have made me an appreciator of the simple pleasures in life. Being surrounded by items and experiences that were created by a loved one, showed me the value of thoughtful and beautiful experiences in life.

Hi! My name is Ayden Meyer and I am a Senior studying Advertising here at the University of Oregon. I am a huge music nerd, so I am so excited to be working with fellow music lovers at Align to create some amazing playlists and content for you all. I am originally from Chicago but the Pacific Northwest is definitely my place. I love art, film, the coast, antiquing, and exploring old little towns.

I started creating graphic art and digital illustrations my sophomore year of high school and am now going into my senior year of college, majoring in Art & Technology with a minor in Art History. Aside from my involvement with Align, I like to be outdoors, whether that's hiking and camping in the summer or snowboarding in the winter. Recently I've been learning to play the bass guitar and trying my hand at photography. I spend the majority of my time working the front desk at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art on campus or glued to my computer at home.
