Sometimes when autumn comes around, it can be hard to get into the fall spirit. However, the fall offers unique experiences that are unlike other seasons. From certain drinks to trying different combos out in your wardrobe, the fall time can be exciting. After a long day or if you simply have some downtime, binging the right show can feel like the perfect escape. Three of my favorite shows have helped me discover the essential items and hobbies available to make the fall time the most optimal. While you watch my three recommended shows, consider all the fashion, key elements, and daily items of the characters that you could implement in your life and make your fall more worthwhile. Each season can be an escape, but fall is my favorite. Romanticize your life through these show components to make your fall more interesting and give you some boost in serotonin.
1. Gilmore Girls: Finding The Must-Have Items

Gilmore Girls is my favorite show of all time. From Rory’s up and down romances to her relationship with her amazing and unique mom, Lorelai, this show has everything to offer for your autumn fantasies. The show lends a helping hand when embracing fall time because of the unavoidable urges it gives you to try new hobbies on a daily basis. When I first watched the show, I had an unquenchable thirst to drink coffee every day. That’s what the show does to you (if you don’t already). Putting on the perfect fall outfit and going to your favorite local coffee shop while binging the show makes it that much more enjoyable. The show also made me want to start reading more, something I can sadly admit I am never interested in. With your favorite local coffee shop drink in tow and a new book (the one you can rent at the library if you want to save money), this show creates the perfect fall activities to try. This show will provide you with the right fall essentials needed to romanticize the season and make each day a little bit more exciting. From coffee, perfecting your room decor, and potentially starting the new hobby of getting into reading, the show gives the perfect fall checklist. (Tip: If you look up “Rory” on Spotify playlists, you will find several Gilmore Girls inspired playlists, with a fall vibe, to listen to while you complete said checklist)
2. Gossip Girl: Fall Fashion

Indisputably one of the most iconic drama television shows of our lifetime, Gossip Girl is also one of my fall favorites. Although looking back, many of their wardrobe choices were a little bit questionable, there is one major takeaway from binging Gossip Girl during the fall — you’ll want to try out some new fall fashion trends. If you don’t want to directly recreate the outfits from the show, it will at least give you the boost of confidence to know you can try mixing up your wardrobe even when it’s cold outside. So if a style slump is upon you during the fall, turn to Gossip Girl to get a confidence boost and simultaneously watch a never-ending “leaves you wanting more” kind of show. Looking past the obvious 2010’s fashion choices, there are some key fashion statement pieces to take away from the show. To name a few: knee-high socks, plaid skirts, statement jackets, hats, and scarfs in the show will make you want to try them all out during autumn. My favorite fall fashion takeaway from the show is a scarf can be the perfect fishing touch on any cold-day fit.
3. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina: Getting Into The Spooky Spirit

If you’re a fan of all things spooky and look forward to the fall for that reason alone, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is the right show for you. The show follows a teenage girl discovering her witchy powers and going to a new school to advance her witchcraft. With romance twists and turns and a unique kind of coming-of-age story, the show puts me in the perfect autumn mood. I am personally not a fan of things gory or scary, and the show is not either of those. However, it is dark and vampy, making the fall time much more romanticizing-worthy. On top of having a subtly scary escape, binging the show during the fall time will give you makeup inspiration as many of the looks on the show involve a dark lip. Something I am always shy of until I started watching the show again and realized that a vampy lip or eyeshadow look is perfect in the fall. For a spooky binging escape that will make each day feel like this season is special in its fun and cozy way, watch this show. This show always gets me in the Halloween and otherwise ominous spirit of autumn — each day in Eugene will feel like you are in the show making life more interesting.
