As controversial as the A24 series may be among Sam Levinson skeptics and mothers of teenagers, the recent second season of Euphoria was a major cultural moment of 2022. It created vast discussion for its viewers, primarily Gen Z, on essentially every social media platform. Every Sunday, millions of viewers sat down for the hour-long episodes and raced to Twitter and TikTok for analyses, memes, theories, and reflections. Each character we saw was refreshingly multifaceted, flawed, occasionally relatable, and incredibly captivating. Since I know that we are all eager for the third season, as Euphoria seasons are infamously and painstakingly spread out, I thought I would figure out what would be good to watch for a similar experience. I have found that no series or film can replicate the enthralling production that Euphoria is, but here are a few options that have parallels to some of the coming-of-age, comedic, artistic, and darker aspects of this show. Some of the following may feature Euphoria actors if you want to see more of them on your screen or have a similar feel in general.
Ultimately, we can only hope that Levinson hears our prayers, writes Kat Hernandez a better character arc, and starts production again soon, so we don’t have to miss Euphoria Sundays for too long. Happy viewing!
