As the past year in quarantine dragged on, many of us scrambled to find joy or comfort in whatever we could, which looked different for everyone. To some of us, this meant spending more time outdoors, and to others it meant finding a new hobby to keep them occupied. However, I think almost all of us can agree that we discovered the joys of online shopping during quarantine.
The feeling of excitement and anticipation that comes with awaiting and receiving a package at your front door became unparalleled to most other experiences during this somewhat dull time. This varied from clothes, to skincare, to kitchen supplies, and much more. While this is largely due to new marketing innovations through social media, and a lot of what is advertised is not really worth it, here’s a guide to some things to buy that will actually bring you happiness (and that you’ll hopefully use!).

Cute animal planters
Investing in a planter is such a good idea, because it gives you an opportunity to get plants and have cute decor. Plants are some of the best and brightest things you can add to a room, and doing so in a cute planter makes it even better. Anything can be grown in a container, so get whatever plant works best for you! (a fake plant works too, if you’re not quite ready to be a successful plant parent) This planter on top of a dresser or nightstand can add just the cute little addition that your room needs, and will definitely bring happiness.

Shampoo Brush
This is something I hadn’t heard of until recently, but getting one made me realize how incredibly underrated they are. It’s the same feeling (if not better) as going to the hair salon and getting your hair washed! Regular scalp massaging has so many benefits, but most of all it feels incredible! I definitely feel not only much happier after I use it, but also like I really got all the grease and dirt out. If you are tired of scrubbing at your scalp, or just miss the feeling of a scalp massage, this is definitely a necessary purchase.

Wellness Journal
This one seems pretty self-explanatory. As many of us know, there is an overwhelming amount of benefits from daily journaling. This journal specifically provides daily prompts including: goal making, gratitude check-ins, space to plan your days, a wellness map, and so much more that will guide you to more productive and positive days. Getting all your thoughts out on paper as well as being constantly reminded to give gratitude are two of the most prominent ways that journals improve mental health. This journal is perfect for those who don’t know where to start, need ways to improve their mental health, or are just looking for a constant encouragement and reminder to put yourself first!

Sunset Lamp
We’ve all heard of LED lights to add color to our rooms, but many of us might not have seen sunset lamps! These lamps are a perfect way to create a peaceful ambiance in a bedroom or living room. They provide light, color, and a sense of warmth. These lights can be rotated at a 360 degree angle, so they can hit whatever part of the room you like. You’ll definitely find yourself feeling happier and at peace with this purchase.
