Zoom Fashion

Written by Nicole Lyon

This fall has been stressful for everyone. From Covid-19, to almost all classes being offered only online, to the most stressful election and we are still here… and surviving. While the outer world is crazy, let's slow it down and have some quick self-care and quick tips to feel better at home with nowhere to go.

I know when I toss on a little makeup and a sweater with jeans, I feel like a whole new person; even if my plans do not extend past walking my dog. But if you’re like me, you have probably worn the same sweatpants throughout the weeks, so here are some unique, on trend ideas to keep your morning routine cute, quick and comfy!

Fashion: When it comes to getting ready in the morning for Zoom classes, sleeping in is the easy part, but rolling out of bed right before class and getting dressed quickly can get stressful.

Thank goodness for good ole fashion sweats! Even Ana Wintour couldn’t help herself to a pandemic tracksuit! Now it's time for quick, easy and informal yet still professional.

Trend 1: The oh so classic leggings. My go to comfort brands are Lululemon or Gymshark for at home comfort. Leggings are so easy to work with, pair it with a top and flannel/big coat, crew neck or even heavy sweater for this chilly weather.

Trend 2: I will be honest, I did not own my first pair of sweatpants until I was 20-years-old, let me tell ya… I was missing out. Sweats are the best comfy and cozy day necessity. Whether they are Nike plain grey or a branded artistic pair they will always work with some cute Ugg slides (best quarantine purchase I have made by far) and pair with any top cause who knows what you're actually wearing on the bottom half of your body on a Zoom.

Trend 3: Time to get professional because maybe there are some important errands to run in between classes. Jeans paired with a turtleneck, cowl neck sweater or crop sweater, staying warm and trendy will be quick and easy. Toss on some crew socks and boots and you are set for the day.

Hair styles: Sometimes a shower every day can be a lot, especially when we are not really leaving the house or socializing. Dry shampoo is a life saver! Batiste dry shampoo has a good variety of options based upon hair color. No need to stress about whether you washed your hair yesterday or two days ago, you have batiste and you are ready to go in seconds!

Three quick looks to get your hair ready before zoom in seconds include the easy hair down and brushed, hair down and half clipped back or a half up bun and a messy or tight bun.

If you are in the mood the night before a class and have the time to double French-braid your hair, it will stay tight while you sleep and give you a tidy look for the day, or if ya wanna get wavy, undo those braids and let your wavy hair hang free.

Self-care/makeup: I have always loved a good self-care night. A glass of wine, face-masks, a good movie and some dog cuddles… what more could a gal ask for. Here I will run through one of my quick and easy morning routines that I do prior to any zoom class.

Glossier routine, serum moisturizer boy brow mascara (mask at night)-

Routine: I call it the glossier routine. And you guessed it.. yes it contains mostly glossier products. I start by washing my face during my morning shower using the Glossier Milk Jelly cleanser, gentle and hydrating. Once my face is dry, I add a few drops of Super Bounce Serum which has hyaluronic acid and vitamin b5 for soft skin. Next I add a layer of Priming Moisturizer Rich to keep my face hydrated for the day since I tend to get dry skin in the cold weather. I finish up this routine with a quick few swipes of boy brow and any mascara of your choice, I currently love Covergirl priming mascara and the lash blast volume on top.

Masks: Glossier Moisturizing Moon Mask is my go to mask after a stressful day. Every time I have used it I feel like I wake up the next morning to my skin looking reset, hydrated and not inflamed.

I hope you all can relate and find a tip or trick that will work for you!
